What our clients say about us

The UK based charity dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness and promoting the rights of people with disabilities, Sightsavers, recently held an important fund raising event for major donors in the Great Hall.

According to Helen Ashby, Global Events Manager for Sightsavers: “We always try and select an interesting venue to hold these important fund raising events, and this was our first event at Farmers & Fletchers in the City.

“The Great Hall was the perfect size for our theatre-style presentation, with enough room at the back to serve drinks and canapés at the beginning of the evening so our guests, including 40 representatives from corporate companies, trusts, foundations and individual donors, were able to meet each other and circulate easily.

“All the IT worked perfectly with a rolling presentation on the plasma screens in reception on arrival, and the AV presentation, given by Gareth Roberts, Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Director at Sightsavers, worked well together with roving microphones for questions.

“Because the evening had a financial theme, ‘Maximising the Effect of your Generosity’, the City location was perfect. We were very pleased with the service and our guests enjoyed the delicious selection of canapés, including vegan options.  The evening was a great success and we would definitely use the venue again.”

More than 90 per cent of visually impaired people live in developing countries and Sightsavers has already distributed treatment to protect more than 29.5 million people against river blindness, carried out 6.1 million sight-restoring cataract operations and treated 43 million people with antibiotics to combat the potentially blinding infection trachoma, and the work is ongoing.

In addition, the work they carry out also includes training primary care workers in eye care and provide rehabilitation training for visually impaired people.
